Quality Assurance Automation Lead - Selenium/Cypress

Role Summary :

We are looking for a hands-on and technically strong QA Automation Lead to drive the automation strategy, lead the QA team, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.

This role involves leadership responsibilities along with deep technical expertise in designing scalable automation frameworks, integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring automation engineers.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and implement the overall QA automation strategy, roadmap, and best practices.

- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust automation frameworks for UI, API, and performance testing.

- Work closely with developers, DevOps, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure complete test coverage and risk mitigation.

- Guide and mentor a team of QA engineers; review test scripts and ensure coding standards are maintained.

- Ensure automation suites are integrated into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

- Identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement in the existing testing processes and tools.

- Monitor and report on test execution, defect metrics, and overall product quality.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.

- Ensure traceability from requirements to test cases and maintain clear documentation.

- Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and trends in automation and quality engineering.

Technical Skills Required :

- Strong experience in automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or equivalent.

- Proficient in programming languages like Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.

- Experience with API testing using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.

- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and build tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

- Experience working with version control systems (Git) and test management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, Xray).

- Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber, SpecFlow is preferred.

- Proficiency in SQL and database testing.

- Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus.

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.

Qualifications & Experience :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience in building and scaling automation test frameworks from scratch.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

- ISTQB certification or equivalent is a plus.
