Quality Assurance Automation Engineer - Java/Selenium

Job Title : QA Automation Engineer (Java, Selenium, Python)

Location : Remote / Hybrid / Onsite

Experience : 2 to 5+ Years

Job Summary :

We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer with hands-on experience in Selenium-based web automation using Java and/or Python. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining automation frameworks, improving test coverage, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automation test frameworks using Selenium

- Write automated test scripts using Java and/or Python

- Execute functional, regression, smoke, and sanity tests

- Perform cross-browser testing across different environments

- Analyze test results and debug failures effectively

- Identify, log, and track defects with detailed documentation

- Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements

- Maintain and enhance existing automation suites

- Ensure test scripts are reusable, scalable, and maintainable

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)

Required Skills :

Core Technical Skills :

- Strong programming knowledge in Java and/or Python

- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver

- Experience in web application automation testing

- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and DOM

- Familiarity with XPath, CSS selectors, and locators

Automation Frameworks :

- Experience with frameworks like :

a. TestNG / JUnit (for Java)

b. PyTest / Unittest (for Python)

- Knowledge of Page Object Model (POM) or similar design patterns

- Data-driven and keyword-driven testing approaches

Tools & Technologies :

- Version control : Git

- Build tools : Maven / Gradle (Java), pip / virtualenv (Python)

- Test reporting tools (Extent Reports, Allure, etc.)

Good to Have :

- Experience with API testing (RestAssured for Java / Requests for Python)

- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)

- Basic understanding of SQL/Databases

- Familiarity with BDD tools (Cucumber, Behave)

- Exposure to Docker or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)

- Performance testing basics (JMeter or similar)

- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
