Quality Assurance Automation Engineer - Appium/Playwright Testing

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, API, and mobile applications using Playwright and Appium.

- Ensure end-to-end test coverage for functional, system, regression, and integration testing.

- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test reports, ensuring traceability to requirements.

- Perform root cause analysis of defects and collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolutions.

- Conduct database validations using SQL/NoSQL and execute Linux/Unix commands for backend verification.

- Work closely with product managers, developers, and QA teams to define test strategy and acceptance criteria.

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous testing improvements.

- Identify gaps in automation coverage and proactively enhance test frameworks.

- Ensure test results are reported clearly and accurately to stakeholders.

- Mentor junior team members and share automation best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 4+ years of QA automation experience (minimum 2 years in Mobile Automation using Appium, 3 years in Playwright; overlapping experience considered).

- Strong background in web application and backend services testing, system testing, bug life cycle, and reporting.

- Proficiency in web UI, API, and mobile testing & debugging.

- Hands-on experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and Linux/Unix commands.

- Strong knowledge of JavaScript/Java for test automation.

- Must have experience with Playwright and Appium.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).

- Experience in debugging, root cause analysis, and risk identification in applications.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about quality and automation.

- Strong problem-solving ability with a knack for breaking systems and identifying complex bugs.

- Ability to ask the right questions and create clarity in ambiguous requirements.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

- Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).

- Knowledge of performance and load testing tools.

- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Experience with test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr.
