Role Summary :
The QA Analyst will support a managed services engagement for an enterprise application built on the .NET platform. The role focuses on validating ticket resolutions, data fixes and SSIS/SSRS changes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review requirements/defect details from tickets and clarify acceptance criteria with stakeholders.
- Design and execute test cases for incident fixes, enhancements, and minor data changes.
- Perform regression testing to ensure no impact on existing functionality.
Testing of .NET Application :
- Execute functional, integration, and system tests for the .NET-based application (.NET, C#, ASP.NET).
- Verify UI, API, and backend behaviour as per technical and business requirements.
- Document defects clearly and track them to closure.
- Validate SSIS jobs (data flows, transformations, schedules) after new deployments or updates.
- Test SSRS reports for accuracy of data, layout, filters, parameters, and performance.
- Perform data validation against underlying data sources for ETL and reporting changes.
- Generate Test data whenever required.
Process & Documentation :
- Create and maintain test plan, test cases, test data, and test execution logs.
- Contribute to and update QA-related runbooks and knowledge base articles.
- Follow defined QA processes, including entry/exit criteria and sign off procedures.
Collaboration & Communication :
- Work closely with developers, support engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in daily stand ups and status meetings to provide test progress and risk updates.
- Support root cause analysis and preventive action planning for recurring defects.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 to 8 years of experience as a QA Analyst / Test Engineer supporting web or enterprise applications.
- Experience testing applications built on .NET technologies (.NET, C#, ASP.NET).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience validating data in relational databases (preferably SQL Server).
- Experience testing SSIS packages (ETL flows, scheduled jobs) and SSRS reports.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and ticketing tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, or equivalent).
- Understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC), test design techniques, and regression testing.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a multi shift, managed services environment.
