QA Automation Engineer

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for web applications and APIs.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation frameworks, programming, CI/CD integration, and quality assurance practices to ensure reliable software delivery.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reusable test automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.

- Create and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and API testing.

- Develop test scenarios and automation scripts using Java and Python.

- Perform REST API testing to validate application functionality, data integrity, and system integrations.

- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

- Collaborate with development, product, and QA teams to understand requirements and define testable acceptance criteria.

- Implement automation best practices, including Page Object Model, data-driven testing, parallel execution, and reusable test components.

- Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot defects, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.

- Monitor test execution results and quality metrics, including pass/fail rates, test coverage, flaky tests, and defect escape rates.

- Conduct code reviews, optimize automation scripts, and improve test execution efficiency.

- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, test planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to automation standards and quality engineering practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

- Strong experience in QA automation and automated testing of web applications and APIs.

- Hands-on expertise with Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.

- Proficiency in Java and/or Python for test automation development.

- Experience with TestNG, JUnit, REST API testing, and automation framework design.

- Strong understanding of Page Object Model, test data management, and reusable automation components.

- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

- Knowledge of functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Experience with defect tracking, test reporting, and quality metrics.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Appium for mobile application automation.

- Familiarity with TestRail, HP ALM, or similar test management tools.

- Knowledge of advanced JUnit or TestNG features and parallel test execution.

- Experience leading automation initiatives, reviewing test scripts, or mentoring junior team members
