Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Python DICOM Developer to join our Healthcare Technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python development and medical imaging technologies, with hands-on experience in DICOM standards, PACS integration, and healthcare imaging workflows. You will be responsible for building scalable imaging solutions, developing AI-ready imaging pipelines, and enabling seamless integration of medical imaging systems to support clinical and diagnostic applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications for medical imaging and DICOM data processing.

- Develop and optimize DICOM parsing, validation, storage, and retrieval solutions.

- Build and maintain scalable imaging pipelines for healthcare and AI-enabled applications.

- Integrate applications with PACS systems and imaging archives.

- Develop APIs and backend services for medical imaging platforms.

- Process, transform, and manage large volumes of medical imaging data while ensuring high performance and reliability.

- Implement image processing algorithms for visualization, enhancement, and analysis of medical images.

- Collaborate with clinicians, radiologists, data scientists, and product teams to understand imaging requirements.

- Develop secure and compliant solutions for handling sensitive healthcare data.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to DICOM communication, image transfer, and interoperability.

- Optimize application performance for image processing and data transmission.

- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of imaging applications.

- Ensure compliance with healthcare interoperability standards and industry best practices.

- Participate in code reviews and maintain high coding standards.

- Document technical designs, APIs, workflows, and implementation details.

- Contribute to Agile development activities including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.

Required Skillsets:

- Strong proficiency in Python programming.

- Hands-on experience with pydicom, NumPy, and Pillow.

- Strong understanding of DICOM standards and medical imaging workflows.

- Experience working with PACS systems and DICOM networking protocols.

- Knowledge of image processing techniques and medical image manipulation.

- Hands-on experience with OpenCV and SimpleITK.

- Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.

- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including HL7 and FHIR.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

- Strong understanding of healthcare data security and privacy requirements.

- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Familiarity with Docker and containerized application deployment.

- Experience with Git and version control systems.

- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.

- Knowledge of software development best practices and design patterns.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in Python development.

- 3+ years of experience in Medical Imaging applications.

- 3+ years of hands-on experience with DICOM technologies.

- Experience developing AI-ready medical imaging pipelines.

- Familiarity with machine learning or computer vision applications in healthcare.

- Exposure to radiology workflows, diagnostic imaging systems, and clinical applications.

- Understanding of healthcare compliance standards and regulations.

- Experience working with cross-functional teams including clinicians, radiologists, and data scientists.
