Job Title : Python Developer - Storage Domain

Experience : 8-10+ Years

Location : Bangalore (Hybrid - 3+ days/week from office)

Job Summary :

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based automation frameworks and utilities for storage platform validation.

- Develop automated test scripts for storage devices/components including :

i. HBA (Host Bus Adapter)

ii. SAS Expanders

iii. PCIe Switches

iv. Re-timers

v. HDDs and SSDs

- Create automation solutions based on provided validation procedures, test plans, and customer requirements.

- Execute functional, regression, stress, performance, and reliability testing for storage subsystems.

- Analyze logs, debug failures, identify root causes, and provide detailed reports to engineering teams.

- Work with hardware, firmware, and validation teams to reproduce and resolve complex storage-related issues.

- Develop tools/utilities for :

i. Log collection

ii. Test execution

iii. Failure analysis

iv. Monitoring and reporting

- Improve existing automation infrastructure for better scalability, maintainability, and execution efficiency.

- Validate storage protocols, device communication, and interoperability across platforms.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

- Support CI/CD integration for automated testing workflows wherever applicable.

- Collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams in agile development environments.

Required Technical Skills :

Python Development :

- Strong hands-on experience in Python programming with deep understanding of :

i. OOP concepts

ii. Multithreading / multiprocessing

iii. File handling

iv. Exception handling

v. API integration

vi. Automation scripting

- Experience building automation frameworks and reusable libraries.

- Expertise in debugging and optimizing Python applications.

Storage Domain Knowledge :

- Strong understanding of enterprise storage architecture and components :

i. HBA (Host Bus Adapter)

ii. SAS/SATA protocols

iii. SAS Expanders

iv. PCIe architecture

v. PCIe Switches

vi. Re-timers

vii. HDD and SSD technologies

viii. NVMe concepts

ix. Storage enclosure behavior and connectivity

Test Automation & Validation :

- Experience developing automation scripts based on validation procedures and test specifications.

- Knowledge of :

i. Functional testing

ii. Regression testing

iii. Stress testing

iv. Performance benchmarking

v. Failure analysis

- Experience handling hardware/software integration testing.

Debugging & Troubleshooting :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

- Ability to debug storage failures, protocol issues, and device communication problems.

- Experience analyzing logs and identifying root causes independently.

Good to Have Skills :

- Exposure to KQL (Kusto Query Language) or SQL.

- Experience with Linux-based environments and shell scripting.

- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins/GitLab CI.

- Understanding of telemetry/log analytics platforms.

- Experience with version control systems like Git.
