This role focuses on building scalable web applications and backend services that support secure and reliable data exchange between healthcare systems such as EHRs, LIS, and other clinical platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain web applications and backend services using Python and Django

- Design and implement HL7 interfaces (v2.x, optionally FHIR) for healthcare data exchange

- Parse, process, and validate HL7 messages (ADT, ORM, ORU, etc.)

- Build RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF)

- Integrate healthcare systems like EMR/EHR, lab systems, and third-party services

- Work with integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf)

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HL7 message processing and system integration

- Ensure data security and compliance with healthcare standards (e.g., HIPAA or local regulations)

- Optimize application performance and database queries

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinicians, analysts, and QA

- Maintain proper documentation for interfaces and code

Required Skills

- Strong proficiency in Python and Django framework

- Experience with Django REST Framework (DRF) for API development

- Solid understanding of HL7 v2.x messaging standards

- Experience in healthcare integration projects

- Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices architecture

- Knowledge of JSON, XML, and data transformation

- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)

- Working knowledge of Git/version control

- Understanding of asynchronous processing or task queues (Celery is a plus)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with HL7 FHIR

- Hands-on experience with integration engines (Mirth Connect preferred)

- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes

- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

- Understanding of healthcare workflows and interoperability standards

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

- 5+ years of experience in Python/Django development

- 2+ years of experience working with HL7 in healthcare environments

Soft Skills

- Strong analytical and debugging skills

- Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Attention to detail, especially when handling sensitive healthcare data

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
