Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Python Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and APIs. Pharma or Life Sciences domain experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop backend applications and services using Python.

- Build and maintain REST APIs using FastAPI, Django, or Flask.

- Implement business logic and integrate with internal and third-party systems.

- Design database schemas, write SQL queries, and optimize database performance.

- Develop data-processing workflows and background jobs.

- Implement authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.

- Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance and reliability.

- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders.

- Support application deployment and maintenance.

Mandatory Skills:

- 6 - 9 years of software development experience, with strong hands-on Python backend development.

- Strong Python programming, object-oriented design, data structures, and exception handling.

- Experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.

- Hands-on experience developing REST APIs and backend services.

- Strong SQL and relational database experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.

- Experience integrating APIs, databases, and external services.

- Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2 and JWT.

- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and Agile development.

- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills:

- Pharma / Life Sciences domain experience.

- Awareness of GxP requirements, audit trails, and data integrity principles.

- AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Docker and Kubernetes.

- Microservices and event-driven architecture.

- Asynchronous programming and background processing using Celery or similar tools.

- Kafka or RabbitMQ.

- MongoDB or Redis.
