Python Automation Test Engineer

Job Description :

We are looking for a highly skilled Python Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Python programming and automation framework development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation solutions for web applications, APIs, and backend systems. You will collaborate closely with development, QA, DevOps, and product teams to improve software quality, accelerate release cycles, and enhance test automation maturity.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Python.

- Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable automation scripts.

- Automate functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.

- Develop automation solutions for UI, API, and backend services.

- Improve automation coverage and reduce manual testing efforts.

- Enhance existing automation frameworks and create new reusable components.

- Implement data-driven and keyword-driven automation frameworks where applicable.

- Develop utilities for reporting, logging, and execution management.

- Automate REST API testing using Python libraries.

- Validate API responses, business logic, authentication, and error handling.

- Perform database validations using SQL queries.

- Integrate backend validation into automation suites.

- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.

- Configure automated execution using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.

- Support continuous testing initiatives.

- Analyze pipeline failures and improve automation reliability.

- Participate in requirement analysis and test planning.

- Identify automation opportunities across projects.

- Execute automated test suites and analyze results.

- Log, track, and verify software defects.

- Perform root cause analysis for automation failures.

Collaboration :

- Work closely with developers, business analysts, DevOps, and QA teams.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

- Mentor junior automation engineers on framework design and Python best practices.

- Contribute to continuous process improvements.

Education and Experience :

- Experience building automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing frameworks.

- Strong analytical and debugging skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

- Strong Python programming expertise.

- Experience developing automation frameworks for web and API testing.

- Hands-on experience with Selenium, PyTest, or Playwright.

- Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines.

- Knowledge of SQL and backend validation.

- Ability to troubleshoot automation failures and optimize execution time.

- Experience working in Agile development environments.

- A proactive mindset with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
