Job Description:

We are looking for a technically strong Engineer with hands-on experience in Python and Data Engineering in both Development and production support. The ideal candidate should be capable of handling production support issues, troubleshooting incidents, performing root cause analysis, and contributing to development and bug fixes when required.

This role requires a resource who can work across both Production Support and Development, ensuring smooth application and data pipeline operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor applications, jobs, data pipelines, and production environments.

- Provide L1 support for production incidents, alerts, and service requests.

- Perform initial troubleshooting and analysis of production issues.

- Investigate application failures, data issues, job failures, and system errors.

- Resolve issues within defined SLAs and escalate complex issues when required.

- Work on bug fixes and minor development/enhancement activities.

- Use Python for troubleshooting, automation, debugging, and development activities.

- Support and troubleshoot data engineering workflows and data pipelines.

- Perform basic data analysis and validation to identify data-related issues.

- Work closely with L2/L3 support teams, developers, data engineers, and other stakeholders.

- Participate in root cause analysis and help implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.

- Automate repetitive support and operational tasks wherever possible.

- Maintain incident records, issue documentation, and knowledge base articles.

- Communicate issue status, impact, and resolution clearly to internal teams and stakeholders.

- Participate in shift/on-call support if required.

Required Skills:

- 2 - 4 years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, Software Development, or a similar role.

- Strong hands-on experience with Python.

- Experience in Data Engineering concepts, including data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data processing.

- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

- Experience working with databases and writing SQL queries.

- Understanding of application logs, error analysis, debugging, and incident management.

- Ability to work on both support activities and development tasks.

- Exposure to automation using Python or scripting.

- Basic understanding of cloud platforms, data platforms, or distributed systems is an added advantage.

- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with ETL/Data Engineering tools or frameworks.

- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Knowledge of tools such as Airflow, Spark, Databricks, or similar technologies.

- Experience with monitoring and ticketing tools.

- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
