Publicis Sapient - Oracle PL-SQL Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Oracle PL/SQL Developer with strong expertise in database development, performance tuning, automation, and modern engineering practices. The ideal candidate will possess deep Oracle database knowledge along with hands-on experience in Python, Shell Scripting, CI/CD implementation, production observability, and operational excellence.

The candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting mission-critical applications while driving automation, reliability, and continuous improvement across the software delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Development & Optimization:

- Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and views.

- Develop scalable and high-performance database solutions for enterprise applications.

- Perform SQL query optimization and performance tuning using execution plans, AWR reports, ASH reports, and Oracle diagnostic tools.

- Design database schemas, indexing strategies, partitioning, and archival solutions.

- Conduct code reviews and enforce database development best practices.

Automation & Scripting:

- Develop automation solutions using Python and Unix/Linux Shell scripting.

- Automate database deployment, monitoring, health checks, reconciliation, and support activities.

- Build reusable utilities for operational efficiency and reduction of manual effort.

- Create scripts for data validation, reporting, migration, and performance analysis.

CI/CD & DevOps:

- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for database objects and application deployments.

- Integrate database deployments into enterprise DevOps workflows.

- Work with tools such as:

1. Jenkins

2. GitHub Actions

3. GitLab CI/CD

4. Azure DevOps

5. Bitbucket Pipelines

- Implement database version control and automated release processes.

- Champion Infrastructure as Code and deployment automation wherever applicable.

Observability & Reliability Engineering:

- Promote an observability-first mindset across applications and database platforms.

- Define and implement meaningful metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.

- Build operational dashboards using enterprise observability platforms.

- Analyze production incidents and drive root-cause analysis.

- Participate in reliability improvements, capacity planning, and performance optimization initiatives.

- Implement proactive monitoring and automated remediation solutions.

Production Support & Engineering Excellence:

- Troubleshoot complex production issues across applications, middleware, and databases.

- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, architecture, and support teams.

- Participate in release planning, deployment validation, and post-deployment monitoring.

- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements.

- Drive engineering best practices, technical excellence, and continuous improvement culture.
