Job Description :
Role : Murex Back Office & Integration Consultant
Location : Bangalore
The ideal candidate should have strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes and expertise in designing, configuring, and integrating Murex with upstream/downstream systems.
Key Responsibilities :
Back Office (BO) Responsibilities :
Act as the SME for Murex Back Office modules such as :
- Settlements (Cash & Securities)
- Confirmation workflows
- Payments & Receipts
- Accounting & Posting
- Static Data / Reference Data
- Analyze, design, and configure BO workflows in MX.3.
- Manage trade lifecycle from booking to settlement and reconciliation.
- Support regulatory, accounting, and operational reporting.
- Troubleshoot BO issues and perform impact analysis for changes.
- Work closely with Middle Office, Finance, and Operations teams.
Integration Responsibilities :
- Design, test, and maintain interfaces between Murex and external systems (via MxML, RTBS, APIs, or middleware).
- Work on data mapping, transformation, and message workflows.
- Build and validate integration scenarios for trade flow, market data, reference data, and accounting feeds.
- Analyze logs, identify root causes, and support interface failures.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams for release deployments.
Required Skills & Experience :
- 5-10 years of experience working in Murex Back Office and Integration roles.
- Strong knowledge of :
1. BO workflows (settlement, confirmation, payment, accounting)
2. Trade lifecycle processes
3. Static Data & Reference Data
4. MxML Exchange / MxML Workflow
5. Integration patterns and message formats
- Ability to write functional specifications, integration documents, and test cases.
- Experience in UAT, regression testing, and production support.
- Hands-on experience analyzing logs, BO events, and workflow failures.
- Good understanding of asset classes such as FX/MM, Fixed Income, IRD, or Commodities.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Good to Have :
- Experience with Datamart or reporting modules.
- SQL knowledge for validation and data checks.
- Familiarity with middleware tools such as MQ, Kafka, or Control-M.
- Exposure to accounting rules, PnL, or reconciliation systems.
- Agile/Scrum experience.
