Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Code Reviewer to serve as a quality and security gatekeeper across our software development lifecycle. This role is responsible for systematically reviewing code contributions for correctness, maintainability, performance, and security ensuring that every line of code deployed meets our standards and is free of vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities :
Code Quality & Accuracy :
- Review pull requests and code submissions across multiple repositories and technology stacks, verifying logical correctness, adherence to design patterns, and alignment with functional requirements.
- Identify and flag defects including logic errors, race conditions, memory leaks, improper error handling, and edge-case failures before code reaches production.
- Enforce coding standards, naming conventions, and architectural guidelines consistently across teams.
Security & Vulnerability Assessment :
- Examine code for common vulnerability classes including injection flaws (SQL, XSS, command injection), insecure authentication/authorization, improper input validation, sensitive data exposure, and insecure deserialization.
- Validate that dependencies and third-party libraries are free of known CVEs and are maintained and properly licensed.
- Collaborate with the security team to integrate SAST/DAST tooling into the review pipeline and triage findings.
Collaboration & Mentorship :
- Provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback to developers with an emphasis on teaching and raising the overall skill level of the team.
- Partner with architects and tech leads to refine review checklists, secure-coding guidelines, and definition-of-done criteria.
- Participate in design reviews and architecture discussions to catch issues early in the development process.
Process & Tooling :
- Maintain and improve code review workflows, automation rules, and CI/CD quality gates.
- Track and report on review metrics such as defect density, review turnaround time, and recurring issue patterns.
- Evaluate and recommend static analysis, linting, and automated testing tools to supplement manual reviews.
Required Qualifications :
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with at least 2 years in a dedicated review, quality, or security-focused role.
- Strong proficiency in at least 3 or more of : Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C/C++.
- Deep understanding of the OWASP Top 10 and common software vulnerability patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Git, code review platforms (GitHub, GCP, AWS, Azure DevOps), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid knowledge of software design principles (SOLID, DRY, separation of concerns) and common architectural patterns.
Qualifications :
- Industry certifications such as CSSLP, CEH, or equivalent security credentials.
- Experience with static analysis tools (Snyk or similar).
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (GCP, AWS, Azure) and container security.
- Background in regulated industries where code quality and compliance standards are elevated.
- Experience reviewing infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipeline configurations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and pattern recognition.
- Strong written communication feedback that is direct, respectful, and educational.
- Sound judgment in balancing thoroughness with development velocity.
- Ability to stay current with evolving threat landscapes, language features, and industry best practices.
- Detailed oriented to document and define changes that need to be made in the code.
