About the Role :

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Product Engineer (Java) to join our engineering team in Bengaluru. The selected candidate will work as an Individual Contributor (IC) and collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, and cross-functional teams to build scalable, high-performance, and responsive web applications.

The role involves designing, developing, reviewing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications while ensuring high code quality, system reliability, and performance optimization. The candidate is also expected to mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Java/J2EE technologies.

- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Build responsive and high-performing UI applications using React or Angular.

- Develop backend services and APIs using Spring Framework and Hibernate.

- Design and consume RESTful web services using JSON data interchange format.

- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design, and solution reviews.

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design artefacts, and code documentation.

- Conduct code reviews and design reviews to ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.

- Identify application performance bottlenecks and optimize application performance, database queries, and system efficiency.

- Work within Agile development environments and contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and delivery activities.

- Support DevOps and CI/CD practices including continuous integration, static code analysis, and deployment automation.

- Mentor and guide junior developers within the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 5 to 8 years of hands-on software development experience in Java (1.8+) / J2EE technologies.

- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.

- Hands-on experience with :

1. Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot

2. Hibernate / JPA

3. React.js or Angular

4. REST APIs and JSON

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

- Experience with performance tuning, debugging, and optimization of applications and SQL queries.

- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and static code analysis tools.

- Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Agile/Scrum certification is an added advantage.

- Exposure to the Financial Services or FinTech domain preferred.

- Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies is a plus.
