Head of IT Competence Center Enterprise Solutions India


Primary Location : Pune


General Information :


We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director IT Competence Center - Enterprise Solutions (IT CC ES) India to establish and lead our new IT delivery team in Pune to support our group-wide S4/HANA-Transformation. She/he plays a key role in the global IT organization by managing team members that belong to several global departments (e.g. Finance, SCM, Production) from the IT CC ES. This role focuses on disciplinary leadership for the India team in close alignment with the respective global department leaders of the IT CC ES.


Roles And Responsibilities :


Team establishment :


- Recruit, onboard, and manage a cross-functional IT team. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation. Define team structure, roles, and performance metrics.

S4/HANA-Transformation :


- Support our group-wide transformation along the entire lifecycle. This includes template build, rollouts in APAC and post-live support with the corresponding team.

Application & Solution Management :


- Own the full lifecycle of global and local applications that are part of the IT CC ES portfolio. This includes development, operations, support, and continuous improvement.


- Ensure application stability, security, and performance in line with business SLAs.


- Align application strategy and roadmaps with business stakeholders and Competence Center leadership.


- Act as IT Business Partner for relevant business functions in India (e.g., divisional process owners, excellence functions), ensuring business requirements are translated into effective IT solutions.

Project & Delivery Management :


- Ensure successful delivery of projects in India and potentially in other countries in the Asia Pacific region (except China). When required, provide remote and/or onsite support in other continents.


- Lead or support project managers within the competence team to deliver on time, within scope and budget.


- Coordinate with other IT teams and business units to ensure cross-functional alignment.

Vendor & Partner Management :


- Manage local Indian IT vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, SLA management, and license compliance where applicable.


- Select and manage external consulting partners for application support and project delivery after alignment with, and approval of, the global VP of CC Enterprise Solutions.

People & Organizational Leadership :


- Disciplinary leadership for the local Indian team of IT professionals (e.g. consultants, developers, project managers) within the scope of the IT CC ES including performance management and development planning in close alignment with the respective department leaders of the IT CC ES. In addition, disciplinary leadership for existing IT team in Vadodara.

Governance & Compliance :


- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards and regulatory requirements (local India regulations).

Continuous Improvement :


- Drive process optimization, innovation and adoption of best practices within the Competence Center and across the organization.


Profile And Qualifications :


- Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field


- Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in SAP application management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role


- Prior experience with setting up and managing a multi-disciplinary team


- Proven track record in application strategy, operations and transformation


- Strong knowledge of relevant application domains and future trends


- Understanding of enterprise IT architecture and governance


- Demonstrated experience in project / program management, strategic vendor development and budget tracking & control


- Customer-oriented


- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


- High level of initiative and accountability


- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus


- Good cultural understanding and awareness and international experience


- Ability to lead in a global matrix environment with culturally diverse teams


- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills
