About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager - .NET & AI/GenAI to lead engineering teams, own product architecture, define technical roadmaps, and drive the development of scalable enterprise software platforms.

The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on expertise in C# and .NET Core, strong architectural leadership, and practical experience integrating AI/Generative AI capabilities into enterprise applications.

This role requires a technology leader who can translate product vision into engineering strategy, make critical architectural decisions, and build secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions while exploring AI-driven product innovation.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own end-to-end product architecture and long-term technical roadmaps for enterprise software platforms.

- Translate business and product requirements into technical strategy, architecture decisions, and implementation plans.

- Design and evolve scalable applications using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, microservices, and distributed systems.

- Identify opportunities to integrate AI/GenAI capabilities into existing products and new software solutions.

- Architect AI-enabled applications using LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, AI agents, and enterprise AI services where appropriate.

- Lead architecture reviews, system design discussions, technology selection, and engineering standards.

- Drive legacy modernization, monolith-to-microservices migration, performance optimization, and platform scalability.

- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, QA, Data/AI teams, and senior leadership to align technology investments with business goals.

- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams, promoting technical excellence and accountability.

- Ensure software quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, security practices, and observability.

- Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve developer productivity and delivery efficiency.

Required Technical Skills :

- Strong hands-on expertise in C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, and modern .NET.

- Proven experience designing end-to-end product architecture and enterprise application solutions.

- Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and system design.

- Expertise in SOLID principles, design patterns, clean architecture, and scalable application development.

- Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS cloud architecture.

- Strong database design and optimization skills using SQL Server or equivalent relational databases.

- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.

- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.

AI / Generative AI Capabilities :

- Practical experience integrating AI/GenAI capabilities into enterprise applications or software products.

- Familiarity with LLM APIs and services such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or equivalent platforms.

- Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, and semantic search.

- Knowledge of AI agents, tool/function calling, workflow orchestration, and enterprise AI integrations.

- Ability to assess AI use cases based on business value, technical feasibility, cost, security, and scalability.

- Understanding of responsible AI implementation, data privacy, access control, monitoring, and evaluation of AI outputs.

- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or equivalent is an advantage.

Architecture & Technical Strategy :

- Demonstrated ownership of technical roadmaps and long-term engineering initiatives.

- Ability to translate product vision into architecture, technology choices, and executable engineering plans.

- Experience defining architecture standards across multiple services, modules, or products.

- Ability to evaluate trade-offs involving performance, scalability, security, maintainability, cost, and reliability.

- Experience modernizing legacy enterprise platforms and introducing new technologies without compromising system stability.

Engineering Leadership :

- Proven experience leading and mentoring software engineering teams.

- Ability to guide senior engineers and make high-impact technical decisions.

- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience in engineering planning, prioritization, delivery governance, and cross-functional collaboration.

- Experience with hiring, performance reviews, and career development is an advantage.

Experience & Qualifications :

- 12 - 18 years of overall software engineering experience, including substantial recent .NET experience.

- Previous experience as an Engineering Manager, Technical Architect, Solution Architect, Principal Engineer, or senior Technical Lead.

- Experience building enterprise products, SaaS platforms, or complex business applications.

- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, subject to company education requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile :

We are looking for a hands-on technology leader who combines deep .NET expertise, end-to-end product architecture, technical roadmap ownership, engineering leadership, and practical AI/GenAI integration experience.

Candidates must demonstrate real architectural ownership and the ability to align engineering decisions with product and business outcomes. AI experience is a valuable differentiator, but it does not replace the core .NET and architecture requirements.
