Role Overview :

As a Principal Engineer Lead, you will be a technical leader responsible for driving the architecture, design, and implementation of our core platform infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with product management, engineering teams, and IT Operations to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based solutions. This role involves providing technical guidance, mentoring junior engineers, and championing best practices in DevOps, system architecture, and IT operations. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and availability of our platform, enabling government agencies to better serve their constituents.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and maintain the overall system architecture cloud-based platform, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.

- Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions, collaborating with engineering teams to deliver robust and efficient systems.

- Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices, including automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery, to improve release velocity and quality.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

- Collaborate with IT Operations to ensure the smooth operation of the production environment, including monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning.

- Identify and resolve critical performance bottlenecks and scalability issues, ensuring optimal system performance.

- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering organization.

- Participate in architectural reviews and code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.

- Partner with product management to translate business requirements into technical specifications and designs.

- Contribute to the development of long-term technology roadmaps, aligning with the company's strategic goals.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-based systems.

- Proven expertise in DevOps methodologies and tools, including automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.

- Strong understanding of system architecture principles, including microservices, distributed systems, and cloud computing.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

- Experience with IT operations, including monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- 11-16 years of relevant experience in IT Operations, System Architecture, and DevOps.
