Role: Principal Software Engineer - Platform Engineering (Cloud & IaC)

Location : Chennai (WFO 5 days)

We're hiring a Principal Engineer to lead the architecture and evolution of large-scale cloud infrastructure and platform engineering capabilities. This is a high-impact IC + leadership role focused on building scalable, secure, and self-service infrastructure for global products.

You'll be part of a globally recognised enterprise software organization known for its low-code automation platform, trusted by Fortune 500 companies to power mission-critical applications. With a strong global presence and a fast-growing engineering hub in India, the company is driving innovation across cloud, AI, and automation in highly regulated industries.

What You'll Own:

- Define and drive AWS architecture across compute, networking, security, and platform services

- Build and standardise organisation-wide Terraform-based IaC frameworks

- Implement GitOps-driven CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure lifecycle management

- Lead Kubernetes (EKS) platform design, scalability, and reliability

- Enable developer self-service infrastructure at scale

- Establish best practices for security, compliance (SOC2/FedRAMP/HIPAA), and cost optimisation

- Mentor engineers and influence platform engineering standards across teams

What We're Looking For:

- 15+ years in cloud/platform engineering within product/SaaS companies only

- Deep hands-on expertise in AWS (EKS, EC2, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.)

- Strong experience with Terraform (modular design, state management)

- Solid background in Kubernetes (EKS, Helm, RBAC, autoscaling)

- Experience with GitOps tools (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, etc.)

- Proven track record in high-scale, compliance-driven environments
