Role & Responsibilities :
WLAN/BT/ZigBee Coexistence Development :
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain WLAN-Bluetooth-ZigBee coexistence solutions for advanced wireless connectivity platforms.
- Work on coexistence algorithms and switching control logic between WLAN and Bluetooth subsystems.
- Analyze coexistence performance issues and optimize firmware behavior to improve wireless throughput, latency, and stability.
- Contribute to MAC-layer coexistence architecture and protocol-level enhancements.
Embedded Firmware Development :
- Develop low-level embedded firmware modules in C and Assembly language for wireless communication systems.
- Work on embedded system programming involving memory management, interrupts, synchronization, and hardware interfaces.
- Implement and optimize firmware functionalities for wireless chipsets and SoC platforms.
- Support firmware integration activities across WLAN, Bluetooth, and ZigBee stacks.
Wireless Protocol Understanding :
- Work extensively with Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11), Bluetooth, BLE, and ZigBee protocols.
- Analyze MAC/PHY layer interactions and RF coexistence behaviors.
- Debug protocol-level issues involving WLAN and Bluetooth communication.
- Understand packet scheduling, coexistence arbitration, channel sharing, and RF interference mitigation techniques.
Debugging & Performance Analysis :
- Perform advanced debugging using GDB, stack trace analysis, crash dump analysis, and firmware log interpretation.
- Analyze and troubleshoot wireless connectivity, coexistence, and performance issues.
- Use Wireshark and Bluetooth sniffers to capture and analyze protocol traffic.
- Debug cross-layer issues spanning WLAN MAC, PHY, BT Stack, Firmware, and Hardware layers.
- Investigate customer-reported issues and provide root cause analysis with corrective actions.
Pre-Silicon & Post-Silicon Validation :
- Participate in pre-silicon design verification of coexistence interfaces using TCL/Python/SystemC-based simulation environments.
- Develop automation scripts and validation frameworks for coexistence testing.
- Perform silicon bring-up activities and hardware validation for new chipsets/platforms.
- Validate firmware functionality and coexistence performance in simulation and hardware environments.
- Ensure compliance with wireless protocol standards and internal validation methodologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Collaborate with global cross-functional engineering teams including :
1. WLAN MAC Teams
2. PHY Systems Teams
3. Bluetooth Stack/Firmware Teams
4. ASIC/Hardware Design Teams
5. Validation & Test Teams
6. Customer Engineering Teams
- Participate in design discussions, technical reviews, and architecture planning.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve integration and interoperability issues.
Design Improvement & Innovation :
- Identify design bottlenecks, coexistence limitations, and system-level inefficiencies.
- Propose enhancements to existing firmware architecture, coexistence methodologies, and validation processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for debugging efficiency, protocol compliance, and system performance.
- Contribute to reusable frameworks, debugging tools, and automation solutions.
