Role Specification and Responsibilities :
As a leader in the product testing team, your primary responsibility is to ensure that products comply with design, regulatory, and customer requirements before release.
- Leadership and Strategy : You will guide a team of testers, define testing strategies, create test plans, and establish acceptance criteria for a wide range of systems, including electronics, mechanical, embedded, and backend software applications.
- Testing Execution : Oversee the execution of various types of tests, such as functional, performance, reliability, environmental, and security tests. You will also ensure test results are traceable to product requirements.
- Defect Management : Analyze test results to identify gaps and defects, and then drive corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with design, development, and manufacturing teams.
- Documentation and Reporting : Ensure the timely preparation of product testing reports, defect matrices, and documentation required for audits, certifications, and customer approvals.
- Continuous Improvement : Support ongoing process improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance test methodologies, automation, and coverage.
- Mentorship : Mentor and guide junior testers on product testing processes and best practices.
- Performance Tracking : Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product testing, such as the defect detection rate, test coverage, and adherence to business timelines.
- Stakeholder Collaboration : The position also involves supporting customer testing activities and providing expert guidance to stakeholders.
Required Technical Expertise :
- Testing Methodologies : Strong knowledge of product testing methodologies across various domains, including electronics, mechanical, embedded, and application software.
- Tools and Automation : Hands-on experience with product testing tools, automation frameworks, and test scripting languages like Python, Selenium, or Appium.
- Communication Protocols : Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, TCP/IP, UART, I2C, and SPI.
- System-Level Testing : Experience in system-level testing, which includes performance, reliability, and compliance testing.
- Industry Standards : Exposure to industry and product standards related to EMI/EMC/Safety/Security (e.g., IEC, ISO, IEEE) and structured processes like CMMI/ISO 9000.
- Analytical Skills : Strong analytical skills with the ability to design test cases for maximum coverage
