About the Role :
As a Principal Engineer Identity, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping and advancing the Identity and Access Management (IAM) architecture that underpins the companys digital banking platform.
You will lead the design and implementation of secure authentication, authorization, fraud prevention, and identity lifecycle solutions, ensuring seamless and secure access for millions of users.
This role involves close collaboration with platform engineering, product, and security teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and user-centric identity solutions aligned with financial industry standards.
You will also provide technical direction, mentor engineering teams, and drive adoption of modern security approaches such as zero-trust architecture and passwordless authentication while ensuring high performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Required Skills and Experience :
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend development expertise using Java, Spring Boot, or similar technologies
- Deep knowledge of Identity and Access Management concepts including authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle management
- Hands-on experience with modern authentication and security protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, and multi-factor authentication (MFA)
- Proven experience designing and building scalable, highly available distributed systems in cloud environments (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure acceptable)
- Strong understanding of secure application development, cloud security, and zero-trust security principles
- Experience integrating IAM solutions with enterprise platforms and third-party systems to enable secure, low-friction user experiences
- Familiarity with identity platforms such as Auth0, Okta, Keycloak, Ping Identity, or similar solutions
- Exposure to fraud detection, anomaly detection, or risk-based authentication systems is highly
desirable
- Experience implementing KYC/KYB integrations or working within regulated financial services environments is a plus
- Proven ability to lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and drive best practices in security and platform engineering
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across product, engineering, and security teams
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
