About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Campaign Developer to architect, develop, and optimize high-impact email campaigns that drive engagement, retention, and conversion.

This role is ideal for a technically proficient developer with deep experience in HTML/CSS for email, marketing automation platforms, and a strong understanding of digital communication strategies.

As a Principal Campaign Developer, you will collaborate closely with creative, marketing, and technical teams to deliver cutting-edge email experiences that perform seamlessly across devices and platforms.


Key Responsibilities :


Email Campaign Development :


- Design, build, and maintain responsive HTML emails that are visually appealing, functional, and optimized for all major email clients and devices.

- Ensure pixel-perfect fidelity between design mockups and final email output.

- Implement dynamic content blocks, personalization, and conditional logic in email templates.

Marketing Platform Integration :

- Build and configure email campaigns within major Email Service Providers (ESPs) like Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Adobe Campaign, ExactTarget, or similar platforms.

- Leverage AMPscript, Handlebars, or similar scripting languages for dynamic personalization and data-driven content delivery.

- Integrate third-party APIs to pull in real-time data and automate campaign workflows.

Code Quality & Testing :

- Optimize code for maximum deliverability and rendering consistency across Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, and mobile clients.

- Use tools such as Litmus, Email on Acid, or Inbox Inspector to perform cross-platform rendering tests.

- Debug and resolve rendering issues or ESP-specific limitations.

Campaign Automation & Workflow Design :

- Collaborate with marketing automation strategists to develop complex workflows and journey builder sequences.

- Implement triggers, user segmentation, and drip campaigns with performance-focused logic.

Asset & Design Management :

- Work with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and tools like Figma to manage assets and convert visual concepts into functional emails.

- Maintain a design system and reusable code modules for consistency and scalability.


Required Technical Skills :


- Strong expertise in HTML5 and CSS3 specifically for email development (table-based layouts, inline styles, media queries, etc.


- Proficiency with JavaScript basics for interactive email components (where supported).

- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, ExactTarget, or other major ESPs.

- Hands-on experience in AMPscript, SQL, or scripting languages used in ESPs.

- Familiarity with responsive frameworks like Foundation for Emails (Ink) or custom media query-based solutions.

- Knowledge of CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and email deliverability best practices.


Preferred Skills :


- Experience with marketing automation tools (e.g. , Journey Builder, Automation Studio).

- Understanding of REST/SOAP APIs for campaign data integration and personalization.

- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git for email asset management.

- Exposure to email analytics, A/B testing, and performance reporting tools.


Qualifications :


- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.


- 5+ years of experience in email campaign development, preferably in a lead or senior technical role
