Head of Engineering (8+ years)
We are looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our engineering team through a critical growth phase. This role combines hands-on technical leadership, team building, and delivery ownership. You will step into a key leadership position, taking full ownership of our engineering roadmap and technical strategy.
This is a builder-leader role and you will be expected to architect solutions, mentor the team, and drive delivery.
What Youll Work On :
- Strategic Ownership: Take full ownership of end-to-end engineering delivery across backend, web, and mobile platforms.
- Technical Direction: Define and drive the technical vision, architecture standards and coding best practices.
- Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of backend and frontend engineers.
- Remote Culture: Build and manage a cohesive, productive remote-first engineering culture across India.
- Execution: Drive execution against critical product milestones ensuring on-time and high-quality delivery.
- Hands-on Involvement: Review architecture designs, pull requests, and assist with complex production incidents where needed.
- Process & Infrastructure: Establish scalable engineering processes (sprints, CI/CD, releases) and oversee DevOps/Infrastructure stability.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with product and business stakeholders to align engineering output with business goals.
What Were Looking For :
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 2+ years in a technical leadership role (Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or Head of Engineering).
- Full Stack & Infra Awareness: Strong backend expertise (Go, Node.js, Python, or Java) combined with a solid understanding of frontend technologies and CI/CD infrastructure.
- Remote Management: Proven experience managing and engaging remote engineering teams across India.
- System Architecture: Deep understanding of API design, microservices, data modelling, and cloud-native architectures.
- Hiring & Scaling: Demonstrated success in hiring, onboarding, and retaining top engineering talent in a competitive market.
- Balancing Act: Ability to balance high-level strategic planning with low-level technical details.
- Ownership Mindset: You take accountability for the software your team ships, from code quality to production reliability.
Bonus Points For :
- Experience leading engineering for fintech, SaaS, or B2B platforms.
- Prior startup or scale-up experience (0 to 1 journey).
- Deep expertise in AWS or similar cloud environments.
- Experience with mobile-first or cross-platform products (React Native).
