Pranathi Software - Linux Administrator - ESXi/Acropolis HyperVisor

About the Role :

We are looking for a seasoned Linux Administrator with strong experience in managing Linux-based environments and virtualization platforms such as ESXi and Acropolis Hypervisor. This role requires a self-motivated professional who can take ownership of critical server infrastructure, ensure uptime, and provide advanced-level technical support across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and administer Linux servers (CentOS, Fedora, RHEL) in both physical and virtualized environments.

- Setup, configure, and maintain cPanel, Apache, Tomcat, and various mail servers (Zimbra, Postfix, MS Exchange).

- Perform regular system maintenance, patching, and updates.

- Administer and troubleshoot virtualized environments using ESXi, Acropolis Hypervisor, Citrix, and Proxmox.

- Experience in RAID configurations (hardware and software) and server hardware management.

- Deploy, monitor, and optimize virtual machines and clusters.

- Perform basic administration, tuning, and backup of MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.

- Write and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Batch, or other relevant scripting languages.

- Automate routine tasks, including server provisioning and patch management.

- Setup and maintain monitoring systems like Nagios, Zabbix, Zenoss, and Cacti to ensure server health and performance.

- Implement effective backup strategies, data recovery, and DR procedures.

- Configure and troubleshoot core networking services: DNS, DHCP, FTP, NFS, Samba, Squid Proxy, etc.

- Design and enforce network security policies using IPTables, Firewalld, and access control lists (ACLs).

- Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement system hardening procedures.

- Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and password policies.

- Audit system access and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

- Maintain up-to-date documentation of systems, processes, and configurations.

- Provide Level 3 support for escalated issues and assist junior team members in resolving complex

problems.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, 24x7 production environment.

- Certification in RHCE, VMware, or related technologies is a plus.
