Job Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Power BI Test Lead with hands-on expertise in qTest and Power BI testing methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading BI testing efforts, validating dashboards and reports, ensuring data integrity, and managing end-to-end test cycles using qTest as the test management tool.

You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of critical BI reports and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead end-to-end testing of Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets, ensuring high-quality analytics outputs.

- Develop, manage, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts using qTest.

- Validate data accuracy and transformations between data sources, models, and final Power BI visualizations.

- Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers, business analysts, and QA teams to define testing scope and coverage.

- Execute functional, regression, performance, and system integration testing for Power BI solutions.

- Ensure thorough testing of DAX calculations, filters, drill-throughs, and visual interactions within reports.

- Lead defect triage meetings, assign priorities, and track defect status using tools like JIRA, qTest, or Azure DevOps.

- Automate test cases where applicable for repeated validation of BI reports and dashboards.

- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure test sign-off and user acceptance.

- Provide regular reporting on test progress, quality metrics, and issue resolution.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 6+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years in BI / Power BI report testing.

- Strong understanding of Power BI architecture, including data sources, Power Query (M), DAX, and data models.

- Experience with qTest for test case management, execution tracking, and defect lifecycle management.

- Proficient in validating large datasets, data transformations, and ETL processes.

- Familiarity with SQL for data validation and backend testing.

- Experience in creating and executing test plans, test strategies, and test reports.

- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with sprint-based delivery cycles.

- Good knowledge of data warehousing concepts and BI development life cycle
