Job Title : Power BI + Kusto Developer

Experience : 6+ Years

Location : Bengaluru / Hyderabad

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.

- Gather, analyze, and understand reporting requirements from business stakeholders and convert them into scalable technical solutions.

- Develop optimized semantic data models using Power BI Desktop with star schema and best practices.

- Create advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, calculated tables, and KPIs for business reporting.

- Build reusable Power Query (M) transformations to cleanse, shape, and prepare data for reporting.

- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple enterprise data sources including :

1. Azure Data Explorer (ADX)

2. Kusto databases

3. Azure Application Insights

4. SQL Server

5. Azure SQL Database

6. Azure Data Lake

7. REST APIs

8. Other cloud and on-premises sources

- Develop and optimize Kusto Query Language (KQL) queries for telemetry, monitoring, diagnostics, and operational analytics.

- Integrate Power BI with Azure services such as :

1. Azure Data Factory (ADF)

2. Azure Synapse Analytics

3. Azure Data Explorer (ADX)

4. Azure Storage

5. Azure App Insights

- Implement incremental refresh, query optimization, aggregations, and performance tuning techniques.

- Monitor dashboard performance and optimize report rendering for large datasets.

- Configure Row-Level Security (RLS) and implement secure access to reports and datasets.

- Publish, manage, and maintain reports in Power BI Service.

- Configure gateways, scheduled refreshes, deployment pipelines, workspaces, and app publishing.

- Troubleshoot report failures, refresh issues, gateway problems, and data inconsistencies.

- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Solution Architects, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.

- Follow BI development standards, coding best practices, and documentation processes.

- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical planning meetings.

- Support production deployments and provide ongoing maintenance for enterprise reporting solutions.

- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements for reporting architecture and performance.

Required Technical Skills :

Power BI :

- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

- Advanced knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).

- Strong expertise in Power Query (M Language).

- Experience building complex data models.

- Knowledge of report optimization and best practices.

- Experience with Power BI Workspaces, Apps, Dataflows, and Deployment Pipelines.

- Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS).

- Knowledge of Composite Models, Incremental Refresh, and DirectQuery.

Kusto / Azure :

- Strong experience with Kusto Query Language (KQL).

- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Explorer (ADX).

- Experience querying Azure Application Insights telemetry.

- Knowledge of Azure Monitor logs and Log Analytics.

- Experience integrating Azure data sources with Power BI.
