Job Description:

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI aligned to business requirements.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate them into effective reporting solutions.

- Develop optimized data models using Power BI data modeling best practices (star schema, measures, relationships).

- Create and maintain DAX measures, calculated columns, and complex visualizations for advanced analytics.

- Build and manage data extraction and transformation pipelines using Power Query (M Language).

- Integrate Power BI reports with multiple data sources such as SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Azure SQL, APIs etc.

- Implement Row Level Security (RLS) and manage workspaces, access permissions, and Power BI service deployments.

- Publish reports to Power BI Service and manage scheduled refresh, gateways, and performance monitoring.

- Optimize report performance by improving data model efficiency, reducing refresh time, and tuning DAX queries.

- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal governance and reporting standards.

- Support end users by providing training, documentation, and troubleshooting Power BI-related issues.

- Work with IT/Infra teams to set up and manage On-Premises Data Gateway and enterprise connectivity.

- Maintain version control and documentation for dashboards, datasets, and data transformation logic.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 6-8 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and BI reporting.

- Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service (datasets, workspaces, gateways, refresh schedules).

- Proven experience with DAX and strong knowledge of data modeling concepts.

- Strong hands-on skills in Power Query (M) for data transformation and cleansing.

- Good knowledge of SQL / T-SQL, query optimization, and relational database concepts.

- Experience integrating BI solutions with enterprise systems like SharePoint, ERP, CRM is a plus.

- Understanding of data governance, access controls, and security concepts including RLS.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills to work with business and technical stakeholders.

- Knowledge of Azure data services (Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS) is an added advantage.
