About the Role :

We are looking for a highly skilled Playwright Automation Test Engineer with 36 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining robust UI automation frameworks. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Playwright, strong in JavaScript/TypeScript, and capable of contributing to a high-quality engineering culture by ensuring reliable, scalable, and maintainable automated tests.

Key Responsibilities :

Automation Design & Development :

- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation test scripts using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).

- Develop reusable automation frameworks, libraries, and utilities to improve testing efficiency.

- Implement and optimize test execution strategies for UI, API, and end-to-end scenarios.

- Ensure automation suites are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with CI/CD pipelines.

Test Execution & Quality Assurance :

- Execute automated and manual test cases to validate new features, enhancements, and regression scenarios.

- Identify, analyze, and track defects using standard bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).

- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA leads to ensure high-quality releases.

- Conduct root cause analysis and provide detailed reports on failures and test coverage.

Framework & Tooling Ownership :

- Enhance automation framework capabilities, including reporting, parallel execution, cross-browser testing, and integrations.

- Integrate Playwright automation into CI/CD systems like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

- Set up testing environments and ensure compatibility across browsers and platforms.

Collaboration & Documentation :

- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, grooming, and retrospectives.

- Document test plans, testing strategies, test data, and framework enhancements.

- Proactively contribute ideas for process improvements and automation best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 3 to 6 years of QA automation experience with strong expertise in Playwright.

- Hands-on experience using TypeScript or JavaScript for automation development.

- Strong understanding of UI automation, DOM structure, selectors, and asynchronous programming.

- Experience building or contributing to automation frameworks from scratch.

- Familiarity with API testing (REST APIs) and tools like Postman, REST Assured, or SuperTest.

- Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.

- Good knowledge of test methodologies, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum practices.

- Experience with version control systems like Git.

- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with Playwright Test Runner, parallel execution, device emulation.

- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).

- Experience with performance testing tools (Locust, k6) or visual testing tools (Applitools).

- Knowledge of BDD frameworks like Cucumber.

- Understanding of database validation (SQL/NoSQL).
