Platform Operations Engineer

This role is responsible for keeping production systems stable, available, and continuously improving. You will act as Tier 2 support, handling complex technical issues escalated from Tier 1. The job involves working with systems, databases, and cloud infrastructure, as well as managing changes in production environments. You will also work closely with development teams to fix issues and improve systems. Strong skills in SQL, cloud platforms, and system operations are important. The role also involves supporting modern tools, including AI-based solutions.

- Act as Tier 2 support by handling complex issues escalated from Tier 1

- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems across systems, databases, and infrastructure

- Own and manage the full Change Management process, including different types of changes (standard, normal, emergency, etc.)

- Assess the impact of changes and ensure safe deployment in production environments

- Use SQL daily for data analysis, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and validating deployments

- Investigate production issues and communicate findings to development and data teams

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git-based platforms and DevOps tools

- Manage monitoring, alerting, and incident escalation systems

- Ensure systems are always available and running smoothly (24/7 environment)

- Identify gaps in documentation and improve processes through automation

- Define and promote best practices and engineering standards

- Perform daily system administration tasks

- Stay updated with new technologies and support the use of AI tools where useful

- 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Operations Engineer, or Systems Engineer

- Strong SQL skills (complex queries, joins, subqueries, aggregations, performance tuning)

- Experience working with production databases

- Good knowledge of Linux systems, including troubleshooting and command-line usage

- Strong experience with cloud platforms (especially AWS services like compute, storage, databases, and monitoring tools)

- Clear understanding of Change Management processes and different change types

- Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems

- Familiarity with agile development environments

- Good communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users

- Experience with Azure cloud platform

- Basic knowledge of AI/ML concepts and AI tools

- Experience with data platforms and data pipelines

- Familiarity with issue tracking and documentation tools

- Experience with container technologies (like Docker and Kubernetes)

- Knowledge of software security and secure cloud practices

- Experience with API testing tools
