Key Responsibilities :
Common Accountabilities :
- Demonstrate specialized depth and breadth of expertise within platform engineering.
- Provide expert technical guidance, promote innovation, and formally mentor and train less experienced engineers.
- Maintain a broad understanding of the technology landscape to improve efficiency and recommend best practices.
- Translate engineering strategy into actionable plans, defining and monitoring team goals.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, coordinating teams or projects as required.
- Act as a quality, best-practices, and governance champion across engineering teams.
Specific Accountabilities :
Technical Excellence :
- Define and enforce best practices for: Code quality Secure coding standards , Non-functional requirements : Code reviews, refactoring, and unit testing
- Drive adoption and continuous improvement of development tools and environments.
- Promote standardization of tools to avoid duplication and improve efficiency.
- Champion Agile and DevOps practices across teams.
- Stay ahead through continuous technology evaluation and innovation.
Continuous Improvement :
- Recommend evolution of platform components and proactively manage technical debt.
- Improve engineering delivery quality through process and architecture enhancements.
- Provide actionable recommendations for engineering and delivery process improvements.
Team Building & Knowledge Sharing :
- Build strong cross-functional and technical teams.
- Actively mentor and coach junior engineers through feedback, guidance, and hands-on support.
- Contribute to R&D cultural transformation and talent development initiatives.
- Participate in Principal Engineer (PE) community forums and knowledge-sharing events.
- Define and deliver technical training programs aligned with skill levels.
Ideal Candidate Profile :
- 11-20 years of experience in platform engineering or related technical leadership roles.
- Strong expertise in engineering best practices, architecture, and scalable systems.
- Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
