About the Role :

We are seeking a Platform Director for our client, a Software Product company head quartered in London.

Platform Director leads the buildout and orchestration of enterprise-grade AI platform services, leveraging Kubernetes, cloud platform services, and modern identity frameworks.

This leadership role oversees mission-oriented platform pods and ensures secure, scalable, and reliable capabilities for internal and external products across cloud-first and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Oversee orchestration, deployment, and lifecycle management of platform services on Kubernetes.

- Define patterns for containerized workloads, service mesh, scaling, resilience, observability, and multitenant operations.

- Drive architecture and delivery of platform capabilities built on cloud platform services (e.g., Functions, API Management, Event Grid, Service Bus, Key Vault, Storage).

- Lead integration with modern identity solutions for secure external identity federation and cross-tenant collaboration.

- Manage delivery of mission-oriented pods (e.g., Retrieval-Augmented Generation as a Service, Agent as a Service, Chat Service).

- Ensure enterprise reliability, zero-downtime deployments, and continuous improvement.

- Lead managers, architects, and senior engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and compliance.

Required Experience :

- Extensive experience managing platform engineering or delivery teams, including leadership of leaders.

- Strong expertise in Kubernetes orchestration, container platforms, and distributed systems.

- Deep understanding of cloud platform services and cloud-native enterprise architecture.

- Experience with identity management and federation.

- Proven ability to deliver large-scale, mission-critical, multitenant platforms with zero-downtime deployment practices.

- Experience launching and operating enterprise platforms across cloud-first and hybrid environments.

- Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

- Experience with agent-based service architectures is preferred.
