Platform Administrator - SAP BW

Position Summary :

We are seeking a reliable and technically skilled Platform Administrator to handle the basis administration of SAP BW systems.

This role ensures the stability, performance, and security of our core enterprise data platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in SAP Basis, SAP BW, and exposure to Azure administration, with a hands-on approach to monitoring, patching, troubleshooting, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities :

SAP BW & Basis Administration :

- Monitor SAP system health (BW on HANA), job logs, and manage error resolution.

- Manage SAP user roles, authorizations, and security settings.

- Coordinate with application and functional teams for BW enhancements and changes.

- Ensure proper system documentation, landscape diagrams, and incident logs.

General Platform Operations :

- Establish and manage monitoring alerts, automation scripts, and health dashboards.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data loading failures, performance bottlenecks, and system errors.

- Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, and system recovery efforts.

- Contribute to platform upgrades, architecture reviews, and infrastructure improvements.

- Document system procedures, configurations, and best practices.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.

- 4+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with a focus on SAP BW systems.

- Strong understanding of SAP BW architecture, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.

- Exposure to Azure Data Lake, Azure Storage, and associated services.

- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SAP Solution Manager, Azure Monitor/Log Analytics).

- Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, database (e.g., HANA/SQL), and network layers.

- Good understanding of security, access controls, and backup/recovery practices.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with SAP BW on HANA, SAP S/4HANA, or BW/4HANA.

- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, or PowerShell scripting.

- Azure or SAP certifications (e.g., AZ-104, SAP Certified Technology Associate).

- Understanding of ITIL service management practices.
