We are seeking a detail-oriented PL-SQL Engineer to enhance our Validata platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in PL-SQL programming and quickly learn a complex codebase to deliver high-quality solutions and optimizations that improve platform performance and maintainability.

Life Sciences domain experience (Contracts, Plans, Products, Pharmacy Master) is a plus, but the ability to effectively troubleshoot and deliver results within the codebase is paramount.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze and understand the Validata platform's existing PL-SQL codebase.

- Develop, enhance, and maintain PL-SQL procedures, views, and functions.

- Implement loops, cursors, and temporary tables to support business logic.

- Optimize query performance and data retrieval using indexing strategies.

- Debug and resolve issues across the PL-SQL stack.

- Perform performance tuning through modular design, partitioning, and query optimization.

- Review and improve query execution plans using hints and indexing.

- Implement robust exception handling mechanisms.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

- (Optional) Validate code quality and functionality using PL-SQL unit testing frameworks.

Required Skills & Experience :

PL-SQL Fundamentals :

- Strong understanding of procedures, views, and functions.

- Experience with loops, cursors, and temporary tables.

- Proficiency in applying indexes for performance optimization.

- Solid debugging skills.

Performance Tuning Expertise :

- Modular code design for maintainability and scalability.

- Index and partitioning optimization techniques.

- Ability to interpret and optimize query plans using hints.

- Effective exception handling strategies.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have) :

- Familiarity with PL-SQL unit testing frameworks (e.g., utPLSQL).

- Prior experience in Life Sciences domains (Contracts, Plans, Products, Pharmacy Master).

- 45 years of hands-on experience in PL-SQL development.
