PHP Architect - Symfony Framework

About the Role :

- Define and maintain coding standards, best practices, and system design patterns.

- Oversee database schema design, optimization, and migration strategies for MySQL.

- Lead the development of RESTful APIs for both internal and external integrations.

- Ensure seamless interaction between front-end and back-end layers, with emphasis on Angular integration.

- Guide the implementation of features, modules, and enhancements from planning to deployment.

- Provide mentorship to PHP/Symfony development teams and conduct regular code reviews.

- Identify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and architectural risks.

- Work closely with DevOps to implement CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and deployment automation.

- Partner with product managers, UI/UX designers, and QA to ensure high-quality product delivery.

- Contribute to project planning, estimations, timelines, and documentation.

- Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Professional Experience :

- At least 5+ years working extensively with the Symfony framework (Symfony 4/5/6 preferred).

- Demonstrated experience designing and building enterprise-grade applications.

- Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns.

- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs; knowledge of API security and performance optimization.

- Familiarity with Doctrine ORM, Composer, and Symfony bundles.

- Experience working with Angular as an integrated or separate front-end technology.

- Basic proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery for full-stack collaboration.

- Strong command over MySQL including query optimization, indexing, and data modeling.

- Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis) is a plus.

- Proficient with Git, branching strategies, and CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).

- Understanding of deployment pipelines and cloud-based environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical thinking.

- Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments and managing multiple concurrent projects.
