Role Overview :

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for building and scaling core platform capabilities within Phenom's AI-driven talent experience platform.

This role requires a strong technical leader who can drive architecture, execution, and team development while delivering scalable and reliable systems used by global enterprise customers.

What You'll Do :

1. Lead Engineering Execution :

- Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives from architecture and design through production deployment.

- Translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with long-term platform architecture.

- Drive engineering best practices in code quality, testing, observability, and system reliability.

2. Architect Scalable Systems :

- Design and build large-scale distributed systems that power enterprise SaaS products.

- Ensure systems are secure, highly available, and scalable to support global enterprise workloads.

- Lead architecture discussions and guide teams in building microservices-based cloud-native systems.

3. Build and Develop High-Performing Teams :

- Hire, mentor, and grow a team of strong software engineers.

- Provide technical guidance, career coaching, and performance feedback.

- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and engineering excellence.

4. Drive Operational Excellence :

- Ensure production systems meet reliability, performance, and scalability targets.

- Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvements.

- Improve engineering efficiency through automation, tooling, and development best practices.

5. Influence Platform Innovation :

- Contribute to platform-wide architecture and engineering strategy.

- Identify opportunities to build reusable services and platform capabilities.

- Drive initiatives that create long-term engineering leverage across teams.

What We're Looking For :

- 10+ years of experience in software engineering within product development organizations.

- 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams.

- Strong experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.

- Strong backend development experience in Java or similar languages.

- Experience building microservices-based architectures.

- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.

- Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or similar.

- Strong system design and architecture skills.

- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in fast-paced product environments.
