LOCATION : WFO- 5 days- Mumbai, Gurgaon, and Noida

NOTICE PERIOD : IMMEDIATE 15 DAYS

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Perl Developer to support our ongoing database migration project from Sybase to Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL). The ideal candidate will have strong Perl scripting skills and a solid understanding of database interactions, particularly in legacy systems. You will play a key role in refactoring and adapting existing Perl-based applications to work seamlessly with MSSQL.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze and understand existing Perl applications integrated with Sybase.

- Modify and optimize Perl scripts to support MSSQL as the new backend.

- Collaborate with DBAs and system architects to ensure smooth data migration and application compatibility.

- Write and maintain technical documentation for migrated components.

- Conduct unit testing and support QA teams during integration testing.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database connectivity, performance, and data integrity.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Perl development.

- Strong understanding of Sybase and MSSQL databases.

- Experience with DBI/DBD modules for database interaction in Perl.

- Familiarity with SQL query optimization and stored procedures.

- Proficient in working with Linux/Unix environments.

- Good understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience in database migration projects.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Knowledge of other scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) is a plus
