Performance Tester - Load/Stress Testing

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and execute load, stress, and endurance tests for web and API-based applications.

- Develop robust performance test scripts with parameterization, correlation, and dynamic data handling.

- Analyze performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and provide detailed root cause analysis across application and database layers.

- Use observability platforms (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.) to correlate metrics and traces with test outcomes.

- Collaborate with developers and infrastructure engineers to tune performance and resolve scalability issues.

- Generate detailed performance reports, including trend charts, 95th percentile analysis, and throughput summaries.

- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders during review or tuning sessions.

- Contribute to automation and CI/CD integration for performance test execution.

- Support ongoing initiatives in cloud performance testing and system optimization.

Must-Have Skills :

- Hands-on experience with Performance Testing Tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or k6, with end-to-end script creation, parameterization, correlation, and test design for dynamic flows.

- Proven ability to analyze throughput, latency, and concurrency metrics and interpret complex performance test outcomes.

- Strong understanding of bottleneck diagnosis across application, middleware, and database layers, including response time breakdown and 95th percentile interpretation.

- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.) able to read dashboards, traces, and KPIs to validate performance health.

- Working knowledge of scripting and automation (Python, Shell, REST CLI tools) for test execution, data setup, and integration with pipelines.

- Strong stakeholder communication skills capable of preparing and presenting performance summaries, RCA reports, and improvement plans.

- Proven experience in high-volume transactional domains such as BFSI, Fintech, Insurance, or Telecom, dealing with SLA-driven, multi-tier systems.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with LoadRunner protocols (HTTP, Web, Citrix) in addition to other tools.

- Exposure to cloud-native performance testing in AWS, GCP, or Azure environments, including autoscaling and telemetry analysis.

- Experience integrating performance testing with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and feedback loop automation.

- Familiarity with advanced infrastructure diagnostics, including JVM GC tuning, thread dump analysis, and TCP-level investigation.

- Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced Performance Testing or equivalent are an advantage but not mandatory.
