Performance Test Engineer - Software Quality Assurance

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Performance Engineer with deep expertise in stress testing, load testing, and performance optimization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in identifying system bottlenecks, improving application performance, and ensuring stability under high load scenarios.

This role is critical for validating the scalability and reliability of enterprise-grade applications in production-like environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and execute stress, load, soak, and endurance testing strategies for web, mobile, API, and backend applications.

- Develop and maintain performance test scripts using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar.

- Analyze test results, identify performance issues and bottlenecks across the application stack (app, database, network).

- Collaborate with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to drive performance improvements.

- Create test plans, define key performance metrics (e.g., response time, throughput, CPU/memory usage), and establish benchmarks.

- Simulate user traffic, test system behavior under peak load conditions, and assess scalability limits.

- Tune application servers, databases, and configuration parameters to optimize system performance.

- Automate test execution and integrate performance tests into the CI/CD pipeline.

- Document test results, root cause analyses, and recommendations in clear, actionable

reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 7+ years of experience in performance engineering, with a focus on stress and load testing.

- Hands-on expertise with performance testing tools : JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, Gatling, or similar.

- Strong understanding of system architecture, including web servers, application servers,

databases, and cloud infrastructure.

- Solid programming/scripting skills in Java, Python, Shell, or Groovy for custom test logic and

automation.

- Experience with monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, or New

Relic.

- Deep understanding of HTTP/S, REST APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and network latency

issues.

- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with cloud-based performance testing (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- Exposure to chaos engineering, resilience testing, or failover validation.

- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).

- ISTQB or performance testing-related certifications are a plus.

Educational Qualification :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
