About the Role :

We are hiring an experienced Performance Test Engineer for one of our esteemed clients. The role requires a hands-on expert who can design, execute, and manage end-to-end performance testing and engineering activities. This is an excellent opportunity for seasoned professionals who are passionate about performance engineering and want to work on complex, high-impact projects in a remote-first setup.

Key Responsibilities :

As a Performance Test Engineer, you will :

- Lead performance testing and engineering initiatives across multiple projects.

- Design and implement test strategies, workload models, and test cases for performance validation.

- Conduct different types of non-functional tests including load, stress, endurance, stability, and resiliency tests.

- Work with cross-functional teams to gather Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) from scratch.

- Develop, customize, and execute JMeter scripts for web, API, and asynchronous protocols.

- Analyze system bottlenecks and provide optimization recommendations.

- Collaborate with architects and developers to understand hardware/software architecture for accurate test design.

- Monitor and analyze performance metrics using APM tools like AppDynamics, DataDog, or similar tools.

- Implement Agile/DevOps performance engineering methodology in CI/CD pipelines.

- Support API performance testing and integration with backend services.

- Prepare detailed test reports, dashboards, and performance KPIs for stakeholders.

- Mentor and guide junior engineers in the team (good to have).

Must-Have Skills :

- 10-15 years of relevant experience in Performance Testing and Engineering

- Expert in JMeter with strong custom coding skills (mandatory)

- Advanced knowledge of Java / Python for scripting and automation

- Hands-on expertise in load, stress, endurance, stability, and resiliency testing

- Strong experience in test planning, strategy, environment setup, and defect management

- Good experience in NFR gathering for performance testing projects

- Proficiency in API performance testing

- Excellent knowledge of system performance monitoring using APM tools (AppDynamics, DataDog)

- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Knowledge of frontend performance testing methodologies

- Experience in leading teams or mentoring junior engineers

- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices for continuous performance testing

Soft Skills :

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders

- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

- Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative Agile teams

- Strong ownership and accountability for deliverables
