Pegasystems - Cloud Development Engineer - Docker/Kubernetes

About the Role :

As a Cloud Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, deploying, and maintaining scalable cloud-native solutions that power Pega Cloud Services. This role demands a strong foundation in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps automation, and modern CI/CD practices. You will work on high-impact projects that enhance the reliability, performance, and scalability of mission-critical cloud applications.

Key Responsibilities :

Design & Development :

- Develop cloud-native components and services using the Pega Platform and industry-standard technologies.

- Focus on performance, scalability, and fault-tolerance.

Cloud Operations & Automation :

- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

- Automate deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows to ensure continuous delivery of features and updates.

Integration & APIs :

- Build and maintain integrations using REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML.

- Contribute to service-oriented and microservices-based architectures.

Agile Collaboration :

- Work as part of an Agile Scrum team to deliver high-quality software in iterative sprints.

- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Monitoring & Optimization :

- Develop observability solutions using monitoring and logging tools to ensure system reliability.

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing :

- Maintain high-quality technical documentation for components, workflows, and deployment processes.

- Ensure effective knowledge transfer within the team.

Required Skills and Experience Core Development Skills :

Cloud & DevOps Expertise :

- Exposure to AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).

- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.

Development Practices :

- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

- Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience in test-driven development (TDD) and code review processes.

Soft Skills :

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about continuous improvement.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education and Experience :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying applications using the Pega Platform and Java technologies.

- Experience working in product development or cloud-based enterprise environments is preferred.
