The Specialized Developer (AWS) will provide deep cloud-native expertise to support Dominion Energys Application Modernization initiatives. This role is designed to complement Full-Stack Engineers by owning AWS-specific architecture, implementation, optimization, and integration concerns across modernized applications.

Role & Responsibilities :

Cloud-Native Application Enablement :

- Design and implement AWS-native components to support modernized applications (e.g., compute, storage, networking, and managed services).

- Support modernization of legacy workloads into cloud-native or containerized architectures, where applicable.

AWS Infrastructure & Platform Engineering :

- Implement and optimize AWS services such as :

1. EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda

2. API Gateway, ALB/NLB

3. S3, RDS, DynamoDB

4. IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS

5. CloudWatch, X-Ray

- Assist in defining and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalent.

DevOps & CI/CD Enablement :

- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines aligned with Dominions standards.

- Enable automated build, test, and deployment pipelines for AWS-hosted workloads.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services in enterprise environments.

- Proven experience supporting application modernization or cloud migration initiatives.

- Experience with IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud security best practices.

- Strong understanding of cloud architecture patterns, scalability, and resilience.

- Ability to work within architecturally governed delivery models.

- Experience working in Agile / POD-based delivery teams.
