Responsibilities :

- Technical Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of DBAs, coordinate complex tasks, and act as an escalation point for critical production incidents.

- Performance Optimization : Oversee high-level performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and resource utilization monitoring.

- Security & Compliance : Establish and enforce database security policies, manage user access, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI).

- High Availability & Disaster Recovery : Develop and test disaster recovery (DR) strategies and high-availability (HA) solutions such as Oracle RAC/Data Guard and SQL Server Always On and DAG

- Cloud & Infrastructure : Lead migrations to cloud platforms (Azure) and manage hybrid environments.

- Strategy & Planning : Define product roadmaps, manage license reconciliations, and contribute to long-term capacity planning and budgeting.

Required Technical Skills :

- Oracle Expertise : Deep knowledge of Oracle 12c through 19c, RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and OEM.

- SQL Server Expertise : Proficiency in SQL Server 2019 through 2022+, SSMS, T-SQL, Always On, Replication, and SSIS/SSRS.

- Automation : Advanced scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Shell (UNIX/Linux) for database provisioning and maintenance.

- Operating Systems : Significant experience with both Windows Server and Linux (Red Hat/AIX) environments.

Experience & Education :

- Experience : Typically 8 to 10+ years in database administration, with at least 2 to 3 years in a leadership or senior architect capacity.

- Education : Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- Certifications : Professional certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate are highly preferred.

Soft Skills :

- Communication : Ability to translate complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders and manage client relationships.

- Problem-Solving : Expert analytical skills for root-cause analysis in high-pressure, 24/7 environments.
