Oracle Hyperion Essbase Engineer

Key Responsibilities :

Operational Support & Development :

- Provide day-to-day operational support for Essbase applications, including issue resolution and user queries.

- Build, configure, and maintain Essbase ASO/BSO cubes for planning, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Manage calc scripts, load rules, metadata, and user access controls.

- Perform data validations to ensure accuracy across environments.

- Collaborate with FP&A teams to gather requirements and enhance reporting models.

Documentation & Process Management :

- Develop and maintain SOPs and technical documentation.

- Create and update architecture and data flow diagrams for planning systems and integrations.

- Define and enforce documentation standards and operational best practices.

Integration & Collaboration :

- Work with IT and Finance to support integrations with ERP and data warehouse systems.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align application design with business objectives.

- Lead Engineer Additional Responsibilities (if applicable)

- Act as technical lead and subject matter expert (SME) for Essbase and planning tools.

- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of production issues.

- Review deliverables from team members and guide them on performance tuning and model design.

- Own and maintain system architecture and data lineage documentation.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong hands-on experience in Essbase cube development (ASO/BSO) and operational support.

- Proficiency in calc scripts, load rules, MaxL, and MDX queries.

- Solid understanding of financial planning and forecasting cycles.

- Experience in preparing technical documentation, SOPs, and using diagramming tools like Visio.

- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to support both production environments and enhancement projects.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) :

- Familiarity with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Shell, Python).

- Experience in Agile project environments.

- Knowledge of reporting/visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
