Key Responsibilities :
Oracle Cloud Payroll Configuration & Functional Expertise :
- Configure and optimize Oracle HCM Cloud/Fusion Payroll modules including :
1. Payroll Definitions
2. Payment Methods
3. Earnings, Deductions, Elements, and Balances
4. Fast Formulas (calculations, validation, eligibility)
5. Payroll Flows & Checklists
6. Cost Allocation & Accounting Distributions
- Configure Payroll Accounting, including Cost Allocation, Subledger Accounting (SLA), and integration with Financials.
- Use tools such as FSM, HDL, HCM Extracts, BIP reports, and spreadsheets loader for setup and data conversion.
US Payroll & Compliance Expertise :
- End-to-end knowledge of US payroll legislation, compliance requirements, wage calculations, garnishments, and statutory reporting.
- Specialized experience in Union payroll, multi-state taxation, reciprocity rules, and pay rules for unionized environments.
- Deep knowledge of US tax processing, including :
1. Monthly/Quarterly/Annual tax processing
2. W-2, W-4 updates
3. Tax reconciliation
4. Tax balance adjustments
5. Payroll Operations & Execution
- Lead and perform Mid-Year and Year-End Balance Initialization for US payroll.
- Execute and validate Payroll Parallel Runs, including detailed reconciliation between legacy systems and Oracle Cloud.
- Design, create, update, schedule, and execute complex Payroll Flows.
- Conduct payroll simulation testing, regression testing, and validation of payroll results.
Integration & Cross-Module Expertise :
- Provide deep functional understanding of integrations between Oracle Cloud Payroll and Core HR
- Time & Labor
- Absence Management
- Benefits
- Financials & GL
- Define integration requirements for outbound and inbound payroll files, third-party vendors, and benefits/payroll interfaces.
- Client Advisory & Best Practices
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on :
1. Payroll configurations and design decisions
2. Compliance requirements
3. Process optimization
- Best-practice use of Oracle Cloud Payroll
- Help clients understand product capabilities, constraints, and recommended solutions.
- Create user guides, SOPs, training materials, and payroll process documentation.
Support, Triage & Issue Resolution :
- Conduct triage sessions with customers to analyze system issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Document defects, propose workarounds, and collaborate with technical teams for fixes.
- Monitor payroll production cycles and provide real-time support during payroll close.
Qualifications :
Required :
- 5- 10 years of experience as a Payroll SME, Consultant, or Functional Lead.
- Strong hands-on experience in Oracle HCM Cloud/Fusion Payroll functional configuration.
- In-depth understanding of US Payroll, Union payroll, and multi-state tax regulations.
- Experience with Payroll Accounting, Cost Allocation, and SLA configuration.
- Strong functional knowledge of Fast Formulas, HCM Extracts, payroll interfaces, and Oracle reporting tools.
- Experience with US tax processingmonthly, quarterly, and year-end.
- Proven ability to create FDDs, configuration workbooks, and payroll documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and client-facing experience.
Preferred :
- Oracle Cloud certifications (e.g., Oracle HCM Cloud Payroll Implementation Specialist).
- Experience with Time & Labor, Absence, Benefits, and HCM Core modules.
- Experience working in multi-client or consulting environments.
- Exposure to payroll transformation or migration projects.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
