Role : Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Technical Consultant Mid-Level

Position Overview :
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Technical Consultant Mid-Level to join our Oracle Applications team.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Oracle EBS R12/R12.2 technical development and will be responsible for designing, developing, customizing, and supporting Oracle EBS applications across multiple business modules.
This role requires a solid blend of technical expertise, functional understanding, and problem-solving skills. The consultant will work closely with functional consultants, business users, and project managers to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality Oracle EBS technical solutions.
The position is suitable for professionals who can work independently on assigned tasks while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Development & Customization :
i. PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers
ii. Custom reports using Oracle Reports (RDF) and XML Publisher (BI Publisher)
iii. Custom forms using Oracle Forms (R12)
- Perform customizations to standard Oracle EBS forms and programs using best practices,
ensuring minimal impact on future upgrades.
- Develop reusable, maintainable, and performance-optimized code following Oracle standards
and internal development guidelines.
2. PL/SQL & Database Development :
i. Exception handling
ii. Bulk processing (BULK COLLECT, FORALL)
iii. Performance tuning techniques
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries using explain plans, indexes, and appropriate join
strategies.
- Perform data analysis and validation using Oracle database objects and EBS base tables.
- Support data fixes and corrections in production environments with proper approvals and
documentation.
3. Reports & BI Publisher :
- Design and develop reports using XML Publisher / BI Publisher, including :
i. Data templates or SQL-based data sources
ii. RTF templates for document formatting
iii. Parameter handling and bursting
Modify and enhance existing standard and custom reports such as :
i. Invoices
ii. Purchase Orders
iii. MIS and statutory reports
- Ensure report performance, accuracy, and usability meet business requirements.
4. Interfaces, Integrations & Conversions :
Design and develop inbound and outbound interfaces using :
i. Open Interface tables
ii. Oracle public APIs
Handle end-to-end integration processes including :
i. Data extraction
ii. Validation
iii. Transformation
iv. Error handling and reprocessing
- Work on data migration and conversion activities using :
i. SQL Loader
ii. PL/SQL scripts
- Collaborate with external systems and third-party vendors for seamless data exchange.
5. Oracle EBS Modules & Functional Understanding
functional requirements into technical designs.
Possess working knowledge of at least two or more Oracle EBS modules, such as :
i. Financials : AP, AR, GL, FA
ii. SCM : Purchasing (PO), Inventory (INV), Order Management (OM)
iii. HRMS (good to have)
- Understand end-to-end business flows (e.g., Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash) to ensure accurate technical solutions.
6. Concurrent Programs & AOL Components :
- Develop and register custom concurrent programs using PL/SQL, Reports, or Host scripts.
Configure AOL components including :
i. Executables
ii. Value sets
iii. Concurrent programs
iv. Request groups
- Troubleshoot concurrent manager issues and resolve failures related to program execution,
parameters, and environment settings.
7. Workflow & Notifications :
- Modify and support Oracle Workflow components such as :
ii. Attributes
iii. Notifications
- Debug workflow-related issues including stuck notifications and incorrect transitions.
- Provide support for approval workflows related to business processes.
8. Support & Maintenance Activities :
Provide production support for Oracle EBS applications, handling :
ii. Root cause analysis (RCA)
iii. Bug fixes and minor enhancements
- Perform impact analysis for change requests and provide accurate effort estimates.
- Support testing activities including unit testing, system testing, and UAT.
- Assist during patching, upgrades, and maintenance windows.
9. Oracle EBS R12.2 & ADOP (Preferred) :
- Basic understanding of Oracle EBS R12.2 online patching (ADOP) concepts.
- Coordinate with DBA teams during cloning, patching, and environment refreshes.
