Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) 4 Years Experience
Job Summary :
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with approximately 4 years of hands-on experience in managing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Oracle administration tasks including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and monitoring. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional engineering and support teams to ensure secure, high-availability database operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases across development, staging, and production environments.
- Perform database monitoring, performance tuning (SQL tuning, indexing, AWR reports), and capacity planning.
- Manage backup and recovery procedures using RMAN, Data Pump, and other Oracle tools.
- Implement database security best practices, including user management, roles, and privileges.
- Support and troubleshoot database-related incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution.
- Participate in database upgrades, patching, and migration activities.
- Collaborate with developers and application teams to optimize queries and implement database changes.
- Document procedures, configurations, and best practices for internal knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications :
- Approximately 4 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle 11g/12c/19c administration.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
- Experience with RMAN, Data Guard, Data Pump, and database backups.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Solid understanding of database architecture, high availability concepts, and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in remote or hybrid setups.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager).
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS RDS, OCI, or Azure Databases.
- Knowledge of automation using shell scripts or Python.
- Certifications such as Oracle OCA/OCP.
