Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and optimize mission-critical applications in high-traffic environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and SORTJCL, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and enhance system performance. This role also involves leading modernization initiatives and mentoring team members to deliver scalable and resilient mainframe solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and SORTJCL.

- Optimize batch jobs and ensure efficient execution in high-volume environments.

- Monitor and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across mission-critical systems using TSO/ISPF.

- Resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.

- Lead modernization efforts, including migration strategies and integration with contemporary technologies.

- Mentor and guide junior team members on best practices for mainframe development and performance tuning.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 6 to 9 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, SORTJCL).

- Strong knowledge of TSO/ISPF for system monitoring and troubleshooting.

- Experience in batch job optimization and resolving production issues in high-traffic environments.

- Familiarity with performance tuning and capacity planning for large-scale systems.

- Exposure to modernization projects and ability to design scalable, resilient solutions.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication and leadership skills for team mentoring.
