Role : DataOps Engineer - Database Administration

Location : Chennai/Madurai (Hybrid)

Experience : 3-7 years

We are looking for a skilled and proactive DataOps Engineer with strong expertise in Database Administration (DBA) to join our team.

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of modern data infrastructure, SQL Server internals, and performance tuning, along with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Familiarity with AI-enhanced monitoring and automation will be considered a strong advantage as we evolve toward intelligent operations.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer and manage SQL Server databases including AlwaysOn Availability Groups (AAGs) and Failover Cluster Instances (FCIs)

- Optimize performance using advanced query tuning, indexing strategies (clustered, non-clustered, filtered), and execution plans

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues like blocking, deadlocks, and slow queries

- Implement modern DBA practices aligned with DevOps/DataOps principles

- Automate routine DBA tasks through scripts and tools (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL)

- Monitor and manage cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS)

- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of data systems

- Maintain and enhance database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies

Required Skills :

- Strong knowledge of SQL Server architecture and internals

- Proven experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and index strategies

- Proficient in T-SQL scripting and database automation

- Experience troubleshooting live database issues and identifying bottlenecks

- Hands-on with cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.)

- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities

Preferred / Advantageous Skills :

- Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration

- Familiarity with AI-powered database monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, SolarWinds with ML models, AIOps platforms)

- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and database DevOps tools

- Experience with predictive analytics for capacity planning or anomaly detection

- Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Experience with NoSQL and Big Data platforms
