OpenTelemetry Developer - Datadog

Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced OpenTelemetry Developer with strong expertise in instrumentation and observability solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in code-level instrumentation, metrics, traces, and integration with monitoring platforms like Datadog.

Key Responsibilities :

- Implement code-level instrumentation for Java and NodeJS applications using OpenTelemetry.

- Independently configure and manage OTEL Receivers for data ingestion.

- Export observability data from OTEL to Datadog for dashboards, monitoring, and visualization.

- Work with OpenTelemetry metrics and traces, ensuring full-stack observability.

- Develop and manage custom Datadog scripts and dashboards for application monitoring.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate observability into CI/CD pipelines.

- Troubleshoot and optimize telemetry data collection for performance and accuracy.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 710 years of IT experience with at least 3+ years in OpenTelemetry implementation.

- Strong programming experience in Java and NodeJS.

- Expertise in OpenTelemetry metrics and tracing frameworks.

- Proven experience with Datadog observability platform including custom scripting, dashboards, and alerting.

- Hands-on experience with instrumentation, monitoring, and distributed tracing.

- Good understanding of microservices, APIs, and cloud-native architectures.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in client-facing environments.
